Why President Jonathan Was Called ‘A Village Boy’

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan is an enthusiastic sports fan. Not just does he comply with the games, yet also takes part in real exercising, as he takes his time playing tennis and squash– at the very least 4 times a week.
The executive chairman, Delta state Sports Commission, Amaju Pinnick, divulged this on Channels TELEVISION Sunrise Daily, while examining the midterm report of the administration in the sports field.
He also noted that Lagos and Delta states’ Governors are active athletes, as well, and are really enthusiastic about sports.
Mr. Pinnick claimed that:
“To make any impact meaningful in sport, one must first be passionate about sport,” and this passion, according to him, the President exhibits by his detailed attention to every sporting activity in the country which has led to the drastic reforms in the sector.
“At least four times in a week he [President Jonathan] plays table tennis, he plays squash.”
The sporting activities administrator described President Jonathan as a ‘village boy’ due to the President’s origin from the riverine Niger-delta region, stating the President could dive very well:
“And again, a village boy, he is a very good swimmer
